It is summer, and the season for green! Green also refers to our environment and helping our planet. You often hear of the three "R's" Reduce..Reuse...and Recycle when learning about going green. This philosphy can also be used in design. I would like to add a fourth "R" called Redesign. Using what you have for a design project, not only saves you money, but it also is a great way to help our planet. Instead of throwing away your current accessories or furnishings, they can be reused or recycled! For example, instead of purchasing a brand new coffee table, paint your old one! Instead of throwing out a basket use it in your bathroom for cosmetics or rolled towels. Old curtains can be made into pillows for your bedroom. The possiblities are endless! So before you discard things, give the item a second chance to be transformed into something you may enjoy! Every little bit helps our planet!

6) Stainless Steel - This hot trend in appliances is not going away any time soon! Buyers love a kitchen with appliances that show off a "gourmet" feel!

8) Dream Garage - This is a fairly new trend that buyers are looking for. If the garage is beautiful, and finished off this will be another sign to a buyer that your property is well maintained.

10) Green Lawns - A lawn that is well landscaped and maintained not only helps with curb appeal, but it again helps the buyer to emotionally connect with the property. Great landscape lighting is also an easy addition that will create a superb ambiance!
Bonus: The last thing I would like to add is COLOR! Gone are the days of white walls sell! If you add neutral colors to sterile white walls, it will assist the buyer in emotionally connecting to the property.
